This Moremi, Chobe & Victoria Falls Adventure covers many of Botswana's northern highlights. Although you sleep on comfortable mattresses in spacious tents, it's a little more basic than many of the other safaris we offer to Botswana, with shared ablutions and drinks at an additional cost.
Guides
Each comfortable camping safari is led by a Botswana guide who is passionate about the bush and will draw from their experiences to enlighten, fascinate and entertain you throughout your safari.
Tents
Whilst on this comfortable camping safari, you will stay in a spacious two-man tents which are 3 x 3 metres and made of durable ripstop canvas. Each tent has a sewn in ground sheet as well as mosquito proof mesh over the windows and to cover the door. Every tent is furnished with twin camp cots, each covered with a mattress, fitted sheet, duvet, blanket and pillow.
Bathroom facilities
Bathroom tents are set up separately at each campsite. The showers are bucket showers filled with water warmed to your requested temperature when required. Portable toilets have been set up in separate tents. There is one shower tent and one toilet tent for every six guests.
Meals
Breakfast is usually a light meal, as the cool early morning hours are the best for game viewing so an early start is essential. A typical breakfast includes tea or coffee, bread and spreads and cereals. Whilst at comfortable mobile camps is in the form of a hearty brunch with dishes such as cottage pie, sausages, eggs, bacon, cheeses, cold meats, salads and bread. Two-course dinners are cooked over a campfire and served at a communal table, set out under the stars. Dinner usually consists of a main course with a variety of vegetables followed by desert and tea or coffee.
Vehicles
The vehicles used on these Botswana camping safaris are custom-made 4WD Toyota Land Cruisers created for optimal game viewing. Each is safari vehicle carries a maximum of ten passengers in individual bucket seats. The passenger and driver compartments are connected, which allows for communication between the guide and his guests. The roof has a removable canvas top and combined with the open sides offers travellers the best in game viewing opportunities.
Camp team
On moving days, the safari camp team will pack down the camp, travel ahead in the supply vehicle and prepare the camp ready for your arrival at the next location. The team is made up of a safari cook and camp assistants who are there to set up and break down camp and to carry out daily camp chores, helping to make your safari as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.
