This trip gives you the best of both worlds, with a combination of unforgettable nights around the campfire
and convivial evenings in comfortable lodges.
|
The Acacia Safari combines Discoverer and Adventurer mobile camps with nights at tented
camps, lodges and hotels. These mobile camps are exclusive camps that are erected prior to your
arrival. Using lodges and camps situated largely in private concession areas allows you a near
exclusive safari in Namibia, visiting a wide variety of fascinating and unique locations.

Combined Safaris
The Acacia Safari is conducted in specially extended safari vehicles with 12v
cigarette charger connections, pop-top roof and sliding windows. It is led by an experienced and fully
trained professional guide.

|
The relatively luxurious Discoverer Camps use specially designed, hexagonal shaped, walk-in Meru
tents. Each is sited to make the most of the spectacular panoramic views offered by the camps
situation. Full size beds with pure cotton linen and soft down duvets take the idea of camping
to a new level. Each tent has an en-suite bathroom with flush toilet, bucket shower, hand basins,
water jugs, mirror, towels, soaps and amenities. Bedside lanterns and 'old brass' finishings
create style and comfort that rivals some of Namibia's most elegant lodges.
A 7 x 5 metre tent with dark teak camp chairs, a full bar table and basic library creates a
shady, cool, relaxing main area within which to pass time during the heat of the day. Delicious
three course meals are prepared by the camp chef and served on a beautifully laid dining table in
the open allowing you to enjoy dinner under the stars. When night falls, paraffin hurricane
lanterns and a crackling campfire set the evening ambience.
|
While you are at a Discoverer camp you are hosted by your guide, chef and at least two camp hands who are
there to make sure you want for nothing. A complimentary laundry service is even available in some areas.
|
Adventurer Camps utilise spacious walk-in 3 x 3 meter dome tents each with a small veranda. The
simply styled interior is made up of comfortable camp stretchers with a canvas bedroll, cotton
bed linen and duvet, towels, small side table and 12v lamp. For every four guests there is one
spacious shower enclosure with a tin bucket shower and a large toilet enclosure with flush
toilet. Each enclosure has a table with hand basin, mirror, soaps and amenities.
|
|
 |
A 5 x 5 metre tent with metal and canvas camp chairs is set up to provide shade and sheltered dining in the
unlikely event of rain. Tasty, fresh meals are prepared over the camp fire by the chef and enjoyed at a table
set with stainless steel tableware under a shady tree or the open night sky. All this comes together to offer
an atmosphere of understated, quality, serviced camping.
At mobile camps a complimentary bar is included (excluding premium brands). Whilst staying at lodges and
hotels the system varies: some include drinks, others will add them to a bar bill which is payable by you on
departure.
