Footballs for Fun

The FIFA World Cup takes place in South Africa in 2010 - a first for Africa!

Football has always been the most played and most popular sport throughout Africa. In Namibia it is played on countless fields, roads and dusty streets, usually with a homemade ball of plastic, string, rubber bands or basketwork.

Footballs for Fun have teamed up with national tourist offices throughout southern Africa to part sponsor the production of footballs in their country's national colours. Wild about Africa is working with the Namibian Tourism Board and Footballs for Fun to give to charity and raise awareness in Namibia.

Each football costs UK Sterling GB£10. For every trip made by our travellers to Namibia, Wild about Africa will contribute half the cost of a football. We are asking you, the traveller, to donate the remaining UK Sterling GB£5 towards a football. We will then send you the football and a pump to take with you on safari and to those who will benefit. All profits from every football sold will be given straight to charities that help AIDS, polio, malaria and TB sufferers, and to help victims of drugs and drug abuse; funds will also go to help those who have no fresh water nearby.

If you would like to buy a football to give away to a community in Namibia, just tick the box on the booking form when you make a booking with us and we will send you a football with your travel documents.
