Luggage
Luggage allowance is limited to one soft bag per person, with a maximum weight of 15kg, for participation,
assisted and accommodated trips. This does not include photographic equipment or day packs. No restrictions
for private guided trips.
Meals
Vegetarian, vegan and other dietary requests can be catered for, but must be noted to us on your booking
form, well in advance of departure.
Money
Namibia's currency is the Namibian dollar (N$), which is on a par with the South African rand. You may need
currency during your trip for extras, such as drinks. It is best to take UK pounds or US dollars, and your
guide will help you to change these. Cashpoints in the larger towns will often (but not always) work with
UK credit and debit cards.
Tipping
It is customary to tip in Namibia if you have received good service. We recommend a discretionary £3 per
day per person for your safari guide, £2 per day for camp assistants. About 10% is normal in restaurants.
Water
Tap water in Namibia has been purified, so is safe to drink. Water from boreholes is natural mineral water,
and is also safe. It's also possible to buy bottled mineral water, which will usually be included as
complimentary on private guided trips.
