Guides
There will be a head safari guide who will travel with the group from beginning to end. He will speak good English and be able to teach you a lot about Namibia and what you see during this safari into the Kalahari. At each local village he will be accompanied by local Bushmen or Batswana guides who will impart their traditional knowledge and skills.
Camping equipment
Good-quality camping equipment is included in the cost of the Kalahari Bushman Safari. You'll stay in spacious 2-person canvas dome tents, about 2.5 x 2.5 metres, with a built in ground sheet. Two large windows with sewn in mosquito netting and an extra canvas layer which can be closed against the elements will help to keep the tent well ventilated. Each traveller will be provided with a comfortable foam mattress, about 5cm thick, to sleep on. Each traveller will also be given a canvas chair fitted with a back rest whilst in camp.
Sleeping bags are not included on this safari so you will need to travel with your own.
Vehicles
Vehicles used on this safari into the Kalahari depend on the group size. For small groups of up to about four people a 4WD double cab may be used. For larger groups a minibus will be used.
Campsites
The campsites used on the Kalahari Bushman Safari are very rustic with only basic shared facilities. There will be a bucket shower and a long drop toilet for use at each site. The community, the safari operator and other sponsors based in tourism are working together to lay water pipes in the area and once these are complete, ablution blocks with showers and flush toilets will be built at each site.
