Usual group size: min 2 / max 14 passengers
Single supplement: £115
If you are willing to share a twin room/tent with another traveller of the same gender then let us know in advance as we are able to waive the single supplement. Age of travellers: min 10 / max 100 years old
Children from the age of 10 are welcome on all scheduled departures. For parties with children under 10, a private tailor-made safari can be quoted for on request.
Language
The Namibia Discovery Safari will be led in English.
Costs
This comfortable camping safari to Namibia includes scheduled international flights, via Johannesburg, from London's Heathrow Airport with South African Airways, transport in a specially designed safari vehicle, all noted transfers, accommodation as mentioned, full camping equipment, campsite fees, entrance fees to all national parks and sites and usually three meals a day.
Meals
Almost all meals are included whilst on this holiday to Namibia. The only excluded meals are lunch and dinner in Windhoek on day 2, dinner in Swakopmund on Day 11, lunch in Swakopmund on Day 12 and lunch on Day 15.
Drinks
Whilst you're in your mobile camp on this comfortable camping safari, tea, coffee and hot chocolate are included, as is normal drinking water from the tap. Any other drinks must be bought at your own expense. Your guide will let you know where to stock up on soft drinks, wines, beers and bottled mineral water. Each vehicle has a cool box and/or fridge in which you can store drinks.
Luggage
We request that you try to keep your luggage to a maximum of 12kg per person. This doesn't include a small day or camera bag. Items should all be packed into soft squashable bags as large rigid suitcases are very unwieldy and difficult to pack into the safari vehicle.
Laundry
A laundry service is not available on the Namibia Discovery Safari. However, if you bring a little washing powder with you it would be possible for the guide to arrange a bucket and water for you to do a little hand washing.
Tipping
Tipping is not compulsory. If, however, you want to tip because you have received good service, we recommend a discretionary UK Sterling GBP £5 per day per person for your safari guide and UK Sterling GBP £2 per day per person for safari camps. The latter should be placed in the communal tipping box to be distributed equally amongst all the staff. About 10% is normal in restaurants.
Passport and Visa requirements
It is always your responsibility to get the latest passport and immigration requirements for the countries you will visit or transit through on your holiday from the embassy closest to you. Our current understanding is that travellers on British, American, Australian and New Zealand passports do not require a visa for South Africa or Namibia. However, it is essential that your passport is valid for at least 6 months from your date of departure and that you have at least 2 blank pages in your passport for immigration stamps.
