Summary of day-by-day itinerary

The trip price excludes flights. Wild about Africa can arrange flights originating from the UK or within Africa on request; please ask us about these. If you are travelling from somewhere other than the UK, we ask that you arrange your own international flights at least as far as Johannesburg in South Africa. We can assist with flights between Johannesburg and Windhoek on request.

Day 1 Spend a leisurely afternoon strolling through the centre of Windhoek or relaxing after your flight.
Day 2 Drive over a majestic escarpment en route to your campsite near the Namib Desert's renowned Sossusvlei region.
Day 3 Rise before dawn to make the most of the soft morning light for magical photo opportunities of Sossusvlei's tall desert dunes.
Day 4 Traverse two deep canyons before reaching the Atlantic to stay in the pleasant seaside town of Swakopmund.
Day 5 Visit Cape Cross seal colony on Namibia's Skeleton Coast, before camping at the foot of Brandberg Mountain.
Day 6 Stop at Twyfelfontein, a gallery of ancient bushman rock art, and visit a fascinating living museum.
Day 7 Visit a Himba village where you gain an insight into their culture and traditions, before heading to Etosha.
Day 8 Camp in Etosha National Park where the wildlife viewing continues after night fall at a spot-lit waterhole.
Day 9 Drive across the game park, discovering interesting animal sightings and splendid views of the Etosha salt pan.
Day 10 Head east to camp by a bushman village, with time to explore this fascinating culture.
Day 11 Overnight at the foot of the Waterberg Plateau which towers 400 metres above the surrounding plains.
Day 12 Travel through Okahandja and Windhoek on your way to catch your afternoon flight home.
