Summary of day-by-day itinerary

The trip price excludes flights. Wild about Africa can arrange flights originating from the UK or within Africa on request; please ask us about these. If you are travelling from somewhere other than the UK, we ask that you arrange your own international flights at least as far as Johannesburg in South Africa. We can assist with flights between Johannesburg and Windhoek on request.

Day 1 Spend a day at leisure in Windhoek; visiting craft markets, exploring the town or simply relaxing by a pool.
Day 2 Begin your family camping adventure by travelling across the escarpment and down onto desert plains.
Day 3 Start early to get into Namibia's desert at first light ready to explore Sossusvlei and Dead Vlei on foot and climb sand dunes.
Day 4 Stop for a picnic lunch overlooking feeding flamingos at Walvis Bay lagoon before reaching Swakopmund.
Day 5 A day of family fun in Swakopmund trying any of the desert adventures like sand-boarding, quad-biking and boat cruises.
Day 6 See thousands of seals at Cape Cross before crossing desert plains to camp near a valley of Bushman rock engravings.
Day 7 Cross scenic landscapes to arrive at Namibia's premier wildlife destination - Etosha National Park.
Day 8 A wildlife safari adventure has the whole family seeking out creatures both big and small.
Day 9 Cross from south to eastern Etosha Park, seeking wildlife and enjoying views of the vast salt pan on the way.
Day 10 Visit an organisation working to conserve Namibia's predators, before overnigting in the shadow of the Waterberg Plateau.
Day 11 Pick up any last minute souvenirs as memories of your family safari to Namibia at local craft markets.
Day 12 There's time to explore Windhoek in the morning before checking in for your flight home.
