Safaris to Livingstone & Victoria Falls

Livingstone Town in Zambia is a great location from which to visit the impressive Victoria Falls. Heralded as one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, Victoria Falls is the largest curtain of water in the world at 1708 metres wide. Gallons of water per second cascade over the lip and drop 108 metres into the basalt depths of the sheer Zambezi Gorge.

Walking around paved pathways through lush vegetation, and crossing a narrow bridge over the gorge, you'll reach various vantage points from which to view the Falls. The water levels of the Zambezi River are at their highest between May and June, when the spray cloud is immense and can even obscure the view of the Victoria Falls - expect to get very wet if visiting during this time. The water levels are at their lowest, breaking down into a series of smaller cascades as they fall over the gorge, in October and November.

Many of our Botswana and Zambia safaris, and some of our Namibia safaris, include at least one night in Livingstone to experience the mighty Victoria Falls. Whilst on safaris that include two nights here, you'll have the chance to enjoy one of the many optional activities on offer from rafting and bungee jumping to the more sedate scenic helicopter flights and boat cruises.
