Summary of day-by-day itinerary

Day 1 Scheduled overnight flight from London Heathrow, via Johannesburg, to Lusaka.
Day 2 Fly to Mfuwe Airport where you meet your Robin Pope Safaris guide and drive through rural Zambia to Nkwali Camp.
Day 3 Rise early for your first wildlife activity, choosing between a safari drive in South Luangwa National Park and a guided walk.
Day 4 Heading north you'll start your walking mobile along the Mupamadzi River course through thickets, plains and woodland.
Day 5 Up at sunrise for the morning walk you search out lions, buffalos and birds whilst your expert guide explains each sighting.
Day 6 This is not a route march, each day the pace is set according to the groups needs and depending on what you see.
Day 7The walking safaris are always led by an experienced naturalist and accompanied by an armed game scout.
Day 8 The mobile camp may change location up to three times during your walking safari depending on the wildlife movements.
Day 9 You are met by a vehicle and taken to one of two great safari camps situated near the Luangwa River.
Day 10 There may be time for a final morning game drive before a flight transfer back to Lusaka to begin your journey home.
Day 11 Arrive back in the UK after an amazing and fascinating safari through one of Africa's best wildlife areas.


Note: It is possible to add more time on at one Nkwali Camp at the beginning of the safari and/or Tena Tena or Nsefu Camp at the end of the safari. Speak to us at Wild about Africa for more information and the costs for this option.
