Usual group size: min 1 / max 10 passengers

Age of travellers: min 0 / max 100 years old

Although children of all ages are welcome on the Botswana Wildlife Extension and there are no age restriction as such, parents must be aware that there are dangerous animals in the area and that the mobile safari camp is unfenced. Proper supervision of children remains the parent's responsibility. Please also note that Botswana is a malaria area and we will always recommend malaria prophylaxis which might not be suitable for very young children. Children between the age of 2 and 12 years receive a discount of approximately 20% on the quoted adult price when travelling with 2 or more adults.

Luggage

As the Botswana Wildlife Extension is a private camping safari there are no luggage restrictions on the safari itself.

Costs

This exclusive camping Botswana safari includes, transport in a custom-built safari vehicle; accommodation in a rustic yet comfortable mobile camp; camping equipment; private campsite fees; the services of a knowledgeable private guide and usually three meals a day.

Drinks

During your private Botswana safari, drinks such as mineral water, soft drinks, gin, beer and wine are included. If you have a preferred tipple that is not included in this list we can take requests and ensure that there is plenty to last the trip.

Torches

The Santantadibe mobile camp will be lit by paraffin or oil lamps each evening. An LED lantern will be supplied in each tent. We strongly recommend that you also take with you a good head torch which will let you read a book or catch up with your safari journal at night. We suggest you spend a little money on this essential safari item to avoid a lot of potential frustration in the bush.

Laundry

A limited laundry service is offered during full days in camp. Clothes will be hand washed only and the service will depend on the availability of water and on the weather. If you would like items laundered please mention this to your safari guide or one of the camp team. For cultural reasons we ask you not to include smalls in your laundry. Water and washing powder can be made available to you should you wish to wash these yourself.

Special requests

If you have any dietary requirements, special requests medical conditions that you would like us to be aware of we ask that you tell us well in advance. A good way to do this is to note these in the 'Special Requests' box made available on the booking form.

Whist we cannot always guarantee a special request the safari operators and lodges will always try hard to help.

Tipping

Tipping is discretionary depending on the service you feel you have received. If you would like to tip any of the camping safari team we recommend you give this to your safari guide who will ensure it is split evenly amongst everyone involved in giving you a memorable Botswana camping safari experience.

Visa & passport requirements

Travellers to South Africa and Botswana with a British, American, Australian or New Zealand passport don not currently require a visa.
