Language

The Namib & Kalahari Desert Adventure is conducted in English.

Costs

This camping safari adventure to Namibia includes scheduled overnight flights between London and Windhoek, via Johannesburg; transport in a specially designed safari vehicle; all noted transfers; full camping equipment; campsite fees; entrance fees to all national parks and sites, and usually three meals a day.

Meals

The Namib & Kalahari Desert Adventure includes almost all meals. The only meals not included are lunch and dinner in Windhoek on Day 2, dinner in Windhoek on Day 17 and lunch on Day 18.

Drinks

Complimentary house wine and beer will be offered with your evening meals whilst camping and cool drinks will be provided whilst travelling in your safari vehicle. Any other beverages will be for your own account with costs payable locally. Your guide will let you know where to stock up on soft drinks, wines, beers and bottled mineral water and each vehicle has a fridge in which you can keep drinks cool.

Laundry

A laundry service is not included on the Namib & Kalahari Desert Adventure. However, it is sometimes possible for your guide to speak to the staff at a campsite on your behalf and to arrange laundry to be done for you at an extra cost. This option would only be available when staying more than one night at the same. Alternatively, you can ask your guide for a bucket of water should you want to do some hand washing yourself.

Tipping

Tipping is not compulsory whilst on a camping adventure safari to Namibia. If you'd like to tip because you have received a great service, we recommend about a discretionary UK Sterling GBP 5 per day per person for your safari guide and about UK Sterling GBP 2 per day per person for the camp assistant. About 10% is a normal tip when eating out in restaurants.

Visa and Passport requirements

When travelling to southern Africa, you are required to have a valid passport together with onward travel documents. In addition to this, your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your travel date and must include a minimum of 3 blank pages for customs and immigration stamps. If you do not adhere to these requirements you may be denied entry to South Africa and Namibia.

It is our current understanding that travellers on a British, American, New Zealand or Australian passport do not need a visa for South Africa or Namibia. However, these notes are just guidelines and so it remains your responsibility to double check the necessary requirements with the nearest relevant embassy or high commission in good time before you travel.
