Summary of day-by-day itinerary

The trip price excludes flights. Wild about Africa can arrange flights originating from the UK or within Africa on request; please ask us about these. If you are travelling from somewhere other than the UK, we ask that you arrange your own international flights at least as far as Johannesburg in South Africa. We can assist with flights between Johannesburg and Windhoek on request.

Day 1 Your first night in Namibia is at a comfortable guesthouse in one of Windhoek's leafy suburbs.
Day 2 Journey over the escarpment and down onto the Namib Desert plains to your lodge near the edge of the desert.
Day 3 An early start takes you deeper into the desert for the ultimate sunrise amongst the tallest dunes in the world.
Day 4 Travel north and west to the fascinating desert coastal town of Swakopmund with time to explore the sights on foot.
Day 5 Enjoy a morning kayaking amongst a colony of Cape fur seals in the outer Walvis Bay lagoon.
Day 6 North along Namibia's coast you turn inland and into the heart of picturesque Damaraland to Twyfelfontein rock art site.
Day 7 Join your Namibia guide on an exciting 4WD safari along the ephemeral Aba-Huab River in search of desert adapted wildlife.
Day 8 Journey to a private reserve bordering Etosha National Park for your first wildlife safari.
Day 9 Game drive through Etosha viewing animals and enjoying spectacular views over a vast salt pan.
Day 10 A full day of wildlife viewing: sometimes driving around and sometimes stopping to watch the action at a waterhole.
Day 11 Continue to Okonjima Reserve, base for the renowned AfriCat Foundation, and then head back to Windhoek.
Day 12 The morning is free to relax or shop for last-minute souvenirs before transferring to the airport for your flight.
